Feeling Stuck in Business? Here’s the One Thing That Always Gets Me Unstuck
Apr 10, 2025
Let’s talk about something real for a moment—feeling stuck. I don’t mean that temporary "let me Google this" kind of stuck. I mean stuck in the mud, not moving forward, feeling like you're never going to dig yourself out of the hole.
If you've been there, you know exactly what I mean. And if you're in that place right now? You're not alone.
Today I want to share a story. It’s raw, it’s real, and it’s something I go back to every time I find myself spinning my wheels in business.
The Crash and Burn
Years ago, I had a business partner. The partnership didn’t work. Expectations were misaligned, and we eventually parted ways. I ended up keeping the business, but I also inherited a mess—including a mountain of credit card debt that was, yes, under my name.
The anxiety that came with that? I wouldn’t wish it on anyone. If you’ve ever stared at bills piling up, unsure how you’re going to make it work, you get it. And for those who haven't—imagine drowning slowly while trying to run a marathon. It’s a feeling you don’t forget.
My Wake-Up Call
One day, a team member casually asked, “Have you ever heard of a 0% interest credit card?” I had, but I was stubborn. I didn’t want another card. I didn’t want more debt. I wanted it all to magically disappear.
Spoiler: it didn’t.
What actually happened was that I finally did apply for the 0% card. We transferred the balance, and I sat down with an Excel spreadsheet and made a plan. Thirteen months. One fixed payment. A new, clean business card moving forward. The emotional weight began to lift the moment I had a strategy.
And you know what? We paid it off.
The Real Lesson
That moment taught me one of the most powerful lessons in business (and life): Action cures anxiety.
We often stew in our stress, delay decisions, and let fear paralyze us. But the truth is, taking action—any action—starts to break the cycle.
Write the plan. Schedule the payment. Make the call. Put it in your calendar and take the emotion out of it. Because when the plan is made, you don’t have to spend energy convincing yourself—you just execute.
Your Turn
If you’re feeling stuck right now—financially, creatively, emotionally—please hear me: You are not alone. And you are not powerless.
Take 30 to 45 minutes. Step away from your inbox. Grab a notebook, a whiteboard, an Excel sheet—whatever works for you. Map it out. Take the first step. It doesn’t need to be perfect. It just needs to be something.
Remember: action is the antidote.
